Me and my husband were glad to stay in Ivo Klaic`s country house at room Ivana. Because we were only guests, we were offered an opportunity to use another room too, but Ivana was enough to two of us. The heating was useful because of the uncertain spring weather. The little kitchen corner had a stove, oven, fridge and microwave. The room and the house generally was wonderfully renovated, very beautiful, clean, cosy and peaceful. The Konavle countryside was nice area to drive around, traditions were interesting and the beach nearby the house was amazing. It was great to meet Ivo and his family. Their were friendly and helpful and their hospitality was over the top. Romantic place for couples and family-friendly too. We really felt welcome!
Having doubts about where to stay? Don’t – just book a room with Ivo and Antonia before someone else does and you miss out. The house is a beautiful traditional stone building that has been renovated and modernised with a couple of rooms for guests. The village is in a super quiet location, 3 mins by car from the gorgeous and secluded south-facing beach you can see in the pictures. It’s close enough to Dubrovnik that you can get there early, sight-see and leave the crowds for Ivo and Antonia’s wonderful sanctuary. Amazing hosts, unbelievably accommodating and warm – thank you so much for returning my shoes to me which I accidentally left in the room! Thank you also for the recommendations, the local folklore event was very charming.
The house was perfect, exactly as described. Ivo was really nice (even if we didn’t meet!) and answered our questions very rapidly before we arrived. I would definitely recommend this place: not very far from the Dubrovnik airport, from Cavtat, from Dubrovnik. Everything was made to feel like home . We really enjoyed it and we would have liked to stay longer.
Me and my husband were very happy to stay in the country house during our holiday. The house was a in perfect condition and everything was as described. Ivo and Antonija were amazing hosts, very helpful and friendly! The beach is one of the nicest I ever been to and it´s not far away from the house. We had rented mountainbikes during our stay and that was a good decision, you really felt the countryside for real! We would definitely choose country house ones more!
We stayed in Country House Konavle for two weeks in July. It was amazing! The house is a traditional Croatia stone building, very beautiful and unique. The room with modern interior has all the things needed and it is very comfortable. The house is located in a small, quiet and cute village. There are a lot of old towns, attractive places in the near. It takes only 10 minutes to go to the most beautiful beach in the Konavle region. Ivo and Antonija are so kind, friendly and hospitable. They were ready to help us with everything in any time. They told us about many interesting places to visit; especially folklore festival and horse riding were very exciting. We will recommend Country House Konavle to all our friends and relatives. We think that it’s perfect for every traveler!
We stayed with Ivo and Antonija for 8 days. When we arrived we felt welcome. Everything was there and the room looked perfect. The hosts helped us with everything possible. The surroundings (beach, little village, Dubrovnik) were wonderfull! Thanks!
Is because they live in paradise that they are so nice? Or are they so nice that they make you feel in paradise? Who cares? The fact is that Ivo and Antonia are really great guests that do always their best to make you feel welcome and home. Popovici is a quiet place where you will really have a delightful time The little beach by the house has the clearest waters we have ever swimmed at. Everything was perfect!!
Merveilleux !! Ce fut des vacances parfaites dans cet endroit adorable. Nous avons été très bien accueillis et nous avons beaucoup apprécié ce moment de partage avec les hôtes. Un petit coin de paradis où l’on se laisse vivre sans soucis. La plage a deux pas de la maison est splendide ! Un séjour très reposant dans cette magnifique maison traditionnelle =) C’est avec grand plaisir que je reviendrais ! Merci beaucoup pour ces quelques jours de bonheur.
Abbiamo passato 4 giorni in questo appartamento, l’accoglienza è stata eccezionale. Ivo e Antonija non ci hanno fatto mancare nulla e ci hanno fatti sentire come a casa. Appartamento pulito e corrispondente alle foto in descrizione. Zona tranquilla a 35 minuti di macchina da Dubrovnik. Se dovessi tornare in questa zona sicuramente tornerei alla Country House Konavle!
We stayed five days at Antonija and Ivo’s place. They are wonderful people who cared a lot about our well-being from beginning to the end of our stay. The apartment was spotless and very convenient for exploring the beautiful region by car. Even though the airport was very near (about 10 minutes drive), there were only very few airplanes flying above the area so it was actually quiet. It is a great place to stay and we would have no hesitation to recommend it.

Konavle is the most southern Croatian region which covers an area of 209 km2 with 9500 inhabitants and 33 smaller and larger settlements. It is very famous for its intact nature, beautiful walking paths, Konavle cliffs with the beach Pasjača, and Horseback riding.
Popovici is one of the picturesque villages of Konavle with two hundred residents who live in the traditional stone houses. This village is located in the southern part of Konavle, it is surrounded with intact nature, pine forests, hiking trails, amazing viewpoints, pleasant climate especially at night, where you can take a rest and relax without air conditioning even in the warmest summer months, with long-forgotten sound of complete silence where only sounds of crickets can be heard during the night.
Our family as well as county house foundations are dating from of 14th century. Today, this house, as a part of house complex Klaići, special architectural site, is protected by UNESCO as a cultural monument of high value. During the Croatian war for Independence in 1991, the house was highly damaged. It was renovated again in period 2002.-2004. and completely finished in spring 2013.
